This Week at Springtime

Our Topic is Autumn (changes in the environment)

This is a small selection of Activities the children have enjoyed:

  • Hedgehog collage
  • Spiders
  • Autumn wreath
  • Leaf threading
  • Owl collage

Investigation

The children have been looking inside the pumpkins using one handed tools and also using magnifiers to look at the conkers, acorns, twigs and the different leaves that the children have collected.

Sensory play was great fun, cornflour using coloured water with spreaders to make patterns. Shaving foam and paints on the tuff trays

On the decking

We have now got a carpenter’s workshop for the children’s role play using tools and designing furniture.

 In the garden

The children have enjoyed the mud kitchen, train track, farm and trucks in the construction area. We have played a selection of ring games like ring, a ring, a roses and farmers in the den.

 “What’s the time Mr Wolf” has been enjoyed and is still a favourite with all the children, helping with counting and numbers.

Welcome back, thank you for all the leaves, conkers etc you have collected during your walks over half term.

Our Topic is Autumn (changes in the environment)

This is small selection of Activities the children have enjoyed:

  • Tree hand printing
  • Hedgehog counting
  • Autumn sensory marbling
  • Sunflower heads
  • Firework pictures

On Monday the children loved making different sized bubbles in the garden – It was a windy day! Also using ribbons on sticks and running around the garden.

The children have had fun using golf tees, hammering into pumpkins. This is great for their fine motor skills, hand/eye co-ordination and Physical development using one handled tools.

Messy play was great fun, shaving foam with paint to make fireworks. We talked about fireworks, the colours the children had seen in the sky.

Dear Parents/Carers

 

This week at Springtime, we have had a busy week.

 

The children have enjoyed playing and exploring Pirate Island on the Decking.

Our role play Supermarket has been popular.

Activities the children have enjoyed:

  •  Painting Ice Cubes 
  •  Shaving Foam.
  •  Peg Boards, Colanders with Pipe Cleaners.
  •  Tweezers with Pompoms or Buttons.

These activities help to develop your child’s fine motor skills.

 

We have a Playdough Area, where the children have their own individual pots of playdough that they helped to make.

 

Stories we have shared:

  • Winnie the Witch
  • Room on a Broom

Songs the children have enjoyed:

  • The Day I went to Sea
  • Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
  • If You’re Happy and You Know It
  • One Finger, One Thumb Keep moving

These are all action songs to get us all moving!!

 

We have enjoyed the outside area (when not raining!) using the mud kitchen, construction area, climbing frames and sitting in our bus shelter/train stop.

 

Its Half Term next week, so if go on any walks please can you collect leaves, twigs, conkers etc as we will need these for our upcoming activities after Half Term.
